Vadym Sycantrhope is a music producer based in Madrid, and owner of the non-profit label Creepy Sound Production.
Vadym Sycantrhope was born in a small town in Ukraine, and as a teenager he moved to Spain, where he settled in Madrid in 2001.
Vadym Sycantrhope has always had a passion for music, and his different musical tastes range from the most common music like pop and rock that he learned from his childhood, and more extreme music with which he lives his adolescence, to the most extravagant and rare sounds like noise, ambient, later exploring more and more electronic music, jazz, rap, fusing everything into the same varied taste that he comes to have year after year.
Vadym Sycantrhope is routinely interested in photography, painting, literature, starting to write, and completing the writing with images that he captures around him. Vadym Sycantrhope has had several blogs with his dark writings since 2004, exploring the darkest worlds inside a human being.
Since 2006 Vadym Sycantrhope has been learning and developing some web pages for some music venues in Madrid, also developing pages and forums with different themes and his interests at that time.
In 2009 Vadym Sycantrhope, tired of trying to recreate his sound works with the acoustic guitar, began to be interested in music production, acquired his first midi controller, and began to create his first unpublished demo. He continues writing compulsively, editing and taking photos, testing his knowledge in audiovisuals, and begins his long journey within the artistic world as a creator.
In 2012 Vadym began to develop what would be his first debut album, a very experimental album under the project with the same name as his artistic nickname “Sycantrhope”, with which he would release several experimental works focused on dark ambient.
In 2013 Vadym Sycantrhope began to vary his musical style, and created a dark experimental music project, initially with a noise touch and later dark ambient and avant-garde, the project would be called Coven at the beginning, which would later change its name to Coven-Project, with which, in 2014, he would release his very experimental debut album titled Mental Noise, from which a Spanish artist Jaime Rguez would use a track to put in one of his experimental videos.
At the same time of the expansion, Vadym Sycantrhope decided to create his own label, a non-profit net label, which would carry both musical projects under the same name, the name he gave to the label is Creepy Sound Production.
In 2015 Vadym Sycantrhope created two musical projects, one of them dedicated to experimenting with drone and noise music, the project would be called Dark Owl. And another project would take the direction of post-rock and ambient style, which would be called Sycantrhophylia.
In 2016 with the expansion and changes, and variety of musical styles, Vadym Sycantrhope again turns the screw and creates another musical project called Deadly Oak, the project that would mainly explore experimental and dark electronic music, exploring styles such as witch house or electro house. Also in the same year he creates a dark ambient project called Enearth.
In 2017 and 2018 all the projects are bringing out their work at full capacity.
In 2019 Vadym Sycantrhope began to collaborate with a Spanish Valencian artist Javi Ero, creating an experimental and dark ambient project Letanías al Vacío, where Javi Ero recites his poems on the dark sounds created by Vadym. And another project called NoT in collaboration with Alexander Nechay, an artist, journalist and writer from Ukraine, who provides the voice for the beats created by Vadym Sycantrhope. At the same time, another electronic music project Wh0re? emerged, a project that explores dark sounds within electronic music and its chillwave aspects.
In 2020 Vadym Sycantrhope opened another project on his net label Creepy Sound, an experimental techno music project called Obval. Vadym Sycantrhope also formed another musical project that dedicates its sound part to styles such as darkjazz or lo-fi, the project called Black Shaman. Another project from this year is Ruido Dentro De Mi Cabeza, a trap, hip-hop project, where Vadym Sycantrhope provides the instrumental part, the beats created by himself, and the voice, also the recited texts are written by himself for the project that is also known by its initials R2DMC.
Other projects included in the label are Duh, an instrumental black metal music project, where Vadym Sycantrhope uses the name Smert, and another discontinued project Lazy Cow, which would later become Obval.
Vadym Sycantrhope also makes appearances and collaborations with his projects on programs such as Atmosfera on Radio 3, labels such as Noctivagant, Petroglyph, Kalpamantra, Hexx 9 Records, Cyane Orbe, Signora Ward Records, Midnight Radio, Rehegoo. He makes appearances in reviews on Neformat, WL/WH, and also appears on HHGroups among others.
